Polestar has landed in Hawaii
—February 2005—
We are delighted to announce that Polestar has officially landed on the Big Island of Hawaii! Our new “Residential Learning Center” and base of operations here provide an ideal setting to more fully express our values of “Spirit, Community and Life-long Learning”. Just a five minutes’ walk to the ocean, we have ample facilities for our ongoing programs and events: a large house with two kitchens and common area, temple, exercise room, and 9 lovely Bali Cabins for our guests. Avocado, pineapples, star fruit, coconuts, limes, soursops, grapefruits, figs, bananas, papayas, coffee, noni, and orchids grow abundantly in our back yard. The larger community here is dynamic and growing, offering us many opportunities to serve and expand.
Our first spring and summer here were a great start at our new location. We hosted our ongoing work trade program and two, 10 day “skills for living” intensives for high school and college students. We are currently offering work trade, personal retreat and holiday / vacation options while we make ambitious plans for next years programs. We want to thank all of you who helped us create and nurture Polestar during our first five years in Northern California – amazing years for all of us. Hope you will be visiting us here soon!
