Polestar Dedication was Inspiring–Fun!
We dedicated our new grounds and facilities, Polestar Gardens, on January 7, 2008. This well attended event was fun and deeply inspiring, as we celebrated Yogananda’s birthday, planted trees in our new orchard, and gave thanks for all the amazing energy, support and friendship that made the creation of this dream possible.
We heard talks on community and Hawaiian culture, as well as Native American and Hawaiian prayers and blessings. We had music and entertainment as well as chanting and meditation. Attendees put on their gloves, grabbed their shovels, broke into teams, dug holes and planted a lot of fruit trees. The hors d’oeuvres were plentiful, colorful and really yummy! The event was a touching and memorable occasion marking a great step forward in the evolution of this spiritual community.
